2021 Ford Mustang Mach E

Ford Mustang Mach E – An All-Electric Vehicle with Exclusive Features and Extraordinary Power

The Mach number being defined in physics as the ratio of the speed of an aircraft’s body to the speed of sound and E standing for electric, the name is the perfect choice for the Ford Mustang Mach E, the auto making giant’s all-new, full-electric SUV. The name is old and new at the same time, chosen to pay homage to Ford’s conventionally-powered, high-performance Mustang package named Mach 1 that was among the most successful Ford models ever. The electric Mustang gives freedom a new name – one with connotations of sustainability. Here is what buyers can expect when this spectacular electric SUV hits US dealerships around the end of 2020 or at the beginning of 2021– after much expectation and anticipation.

The Powertrain of the Ford Mustang Mach E

Ford’s first all-electric crossover will be available in six trim versions: the Select, the Premium, First Edition (launched in a limited number of units), the California Route 1 (a special edition with distinctive exterior elements), the GT and the GT Performance Edition. The line-up comes with two battery options: the standard, 75.7-kW-hour battery pack with 288 cells that puts out 255 HP and 306 lb-feet of torque (417 lb-feet with all-wheel drive variants) and an extended-life battery pack that delivers 98.9-kW-hour and 282 HP for rear-wheel drive models and 322 HP with AWD and is comprised of 376 cells.

Trim versions come with specific powertrain features – the Select trim will only be available with the standard battery pack, the Premium is available with both, the First Edition comes only with the extended-range pack and AWD, while the buyers who choose the California Route 1 will get RWD and the extended-range battery. The setup that combines RWD and the extended-range battery offers the longest range, up to 300 miles on a single charge. GT and GT Performance Editions are the strongest members of the Ford Mustang Mach E family – they both come with the extended-range battery and AWD, but they are able to deliver 459 HP, 612 lb-ft of torque and they can jump from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 4 seconds.

Charging times vary depending on the model and the charger. The standard equipment for all Mach E versions will include a mobile charger that fits into standard, 240-volt outlets used for large household appliances, such as clothes dryers. When a new Mustang is connected to a home charger, it gains 3 miles per charge hour, but with the 240-volt charger, the process speeds up to add 22 miles per charge hour. Mach E Mustangs can also be connected to Ford Connected Charging stations – the dedicated solution allows for charging at a speed of 32 miles per charging hours –, while in a DC fast charger, 47 miles of range are gained every 10 minutes, filling up the standard battery version in less than 40 minutes.

Ford Mustang Mach E – Interior Comfort, Safety, and Cabin Features

The battery packs that power electric cars, the Mach E included, are usually located under the cabin floor, and this feature allows for creating more spacious cabins. The Mustang Mach’s interior is, indeed, spacious, offering not only comfortable seating for everyone travelling in the cabin, but 29 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up and around 60 cubic feet with the rear seats folded as well. The interior of the electric Mustang is configured with high-quality materials and great solutions. The dashboard is impressive, with an elegant and stylish digital gauge cluster. Thermal comfort is also a priority for Ford, that’s why electric Mustangs come with heated seats in the front and a heated steering wheel.

Ford offers its very best when it comes to infotainment, too. The SYNC system uses machine learning to offer settings customized through driver profiles, configurable through the huge, 15.5-inch vertical infotainment touchscreen that also features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot and a superb audio from Bang & Olufsen.

The Ford Mustang Mach E line-up comes with ample driver assistance and safety features, the most important ones offered as standard being the reverse brake assist, blind spot monitoring, forward automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, speed-limit sign recognition and the forward automatic emergency braking

The Price Range of the Ford Mustang Mach E Line-up
