ANCHOR SUBARU, NORTH SMITHFIELD RI

Anchor Subaru was started by Robert Benoit in the 1980s.  It was a Sunoco gas station and also did auto repair.  It was located in Lincoln, on Londsdale Ave.  He decided to get into the used-car business as a way to supplement the repair work and began that endeavor with two cars on the lot.  Mr Benoit passed away at the young age of 50, and his sons Bob, Brian and Chris took over the business.   They became a Subaru dealership when the moved to North Smithfield in 1995.  In 2010 the added the Nissan franchise.  Anchor Subaru is one of the longest running Subaru dealerships in New England, and is currently the highest rated Subaru Dealer in the Rhode Island area.
