Rhode%20Island high school sports have a long and storied history, with many notable athletes and teams hailing from the state. In recent years, Rhode Island high school sports have been dominated by strong programs in football, basketball, and track and field. One of the most famous Rhode Island high school sports players is NBA star Lamar Odom, who was born in South Kingston and attended high school at Redemption Christian Academy in Troy, New York. Odom was a highly decorated player in high school, winning the New York state championship twice and earning a number of accolades, including New York Mr. Basketball.
